La palabra del otro
“The Word of the Other” was held in 1996 in El Museo de la Nación, Lima Perú. This was a 3,000 thousand square meter show that exhibited, and installation made by each of the four artists that worked on the project plus works made with patients during the six-month workshops that were held at the Pavilions 10 and 11 of the Mental Health Institute of Lima, Víctor Larco Herrera. This project was curated by Jorge Villacorta Chávez (1958) and supported by the Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst Dr. Eduadro Gastelumendi (1957-2023). This project was meant as an homage to the Peruvian writer Julio Ramón Ribeyro and his three volume books, “La palabra del mudo” (The Word of the Speechless).
“La Palabra del Otro” se expuso en el Museo de la Nación en 1996, Lima Perú. Esta exposición abarcó tres mil metros cuadrados en donde se expuso una instalación de cada uno de los cuatro artistas que participaron en el proyecto y trabajos hechos por los pacientes en colaboración con esos artistas tras la experiencia en el taller realizado en los pabellones 10 y 11 del Instituto de Salud Mental de Lima, Víctor Larco Herrera. Este proyecto contó con la asesoría del curador Jorge Villacorta (1958) y el psiquiatra y psicoanalista Eduardo Gastelumendi (1957-2023). Este proyecto fue un homenaje al escritor peruano Julio Ramón Ribeyro y a sus tres volúmenes titulados La palabra del Mudo.
BULLS / Toros
The bull paintings are inspired by the paintings that a patient of the Institute of Mental Health Víctor Larco Herrera made on the walls of the garden. Los cuadros de toros se inspiran en las pinturas que un paciente del Instituto de Salud Mental Víctor Larco Herrera pintó en las paredes del jardín.

“The Word of the Other “, listening to those who have no voice. A project conceived as a homage to the Peruvian author Julio Ramón Ribeyro as well as to his book La Palabra del Mudo. The final exhibition takes place at the Museo de la Nación, Lima in 1996.
‘La Palabra del Otro’, escuchando a aquellos que no tienen voz en la sociedad. Este proyecto fue concebido como un homenaje al escritor peruano Julio Ramón Ribeyro y a su libro ‘La Palabra del mudo’ , el que termina con una exposición en el Museo de la Nación de Lima, en el año 1996.
